Annual Corps Concentration
The 62 Engineers have recently attended their annual Corps Concentration. Training this year included engineers from the Southern, Western and Eastern BDEs. Troops from the three Brigades participated in training on tactics and the Medium Girder Bridge (MGB) during the first part of the corps concentration. The second part consisted of an exercise in the Glen of Imaal. Number 1 Platoon was tasked with building the MGB to allow advancement of Mowag APCs accross the Slaney River, while Number 2 Platoon secured the area and provided support. Both platoons completed their missions, and the exercise was a success.
There was also a recruit class run, where the recruits participated in foot/arms drill and weapons training, as well as some field craft, and an introduction to tactical training.
On behalf of the 62COE, I would like to thank all of those involved, including those from the 31, 54 and 62 engineers, their cadre staff, the PDF D.S., the School of Military Engineering, all of the attached drivers, and anyone whom I may have forgotten (sorry) for a successful week.
